Patti G. writes, "I have a painting signed Mabel Earp Cason.  I am trying to trace her to the Earp Clan.  She helped Josephine write a book, but where in the whole scheme of the Earps does Mabel fit in?"

Walt Cason gives us the answer:

I am the son of Mabel Earp Cason. Her father was William Harrison Earp. His father John Wesley Earp and Wyatt were first cousins.

Mabel was an artist, art teacher and part time writer, mostly of children's stories.  The picture of Mother's probably dated to around 1930 when we lived in Arizona and she painted a lot of desert scenes and exhibited them in hotels and art galleries.
